KWM Sets a New Milestone in Defense AI as the First AI Command Decision Support System to Participate in KCTC Combat Experimentation
FUNZIN’s KWM (Kill-Web Matching) has become the first AI command decision support system to take part in combat experimentation at the KCTC (Korea Combat Training Center)—a landmark achievement in the advancement of defense AI.
📅 Operation Period and Location
The experiment was conducted over 19 days, from October 13 to November 6, at the Army Korea Combat Training Center in Inje.
👥 Personnel Involved
A team of 11 FUNZINEERS was deployed to operate the full experiment.
🎯 전투실험 수행 현황
A total of 16 combat experiment sessions were executed:
🔹 8 sessions conducted independently by FUNZIN
🔹 4 integrated sessions with an infantry battalion
🔹 4 integrated sessions with an armored battalion
This was not a simple technology demonstration—it marked the first formal validation of an AI staff assistant in a full-scale, real-force KCTC operational environment.
🚀 From Concept to Field-Verified AI
Following the successful demonstration in last year’s Army Tiger Boost Project, this marks the first official transition of KWM from a conceptual framework into a field-validated system.
KWM is now the first AI command decision support system in Korea to be validated in real operational conditions, evolving into a combat-ready AI staff assistant that supports commanders with rapid and precise decision-making. |

FUNZIN Unveils Next-Generation AI Staff Assistant Systems — Including the Large-Scale KWM and KWM WORLD — at ADEX 2025
FUNZIN successfully concluded its participation at ADEX 2025, held from October 20–25 at KINTEX in Ilsan. Under the theme “The Heart of the Future Battlefield: Large-Scale KWM,” FUNZIN introduced the latest evolution of its AI staff assistant ecosystem: KWM WORLD.
Key showcased systems included:
-
KWM — AI Command Decision Support System
-
KWM-Ocelot — AI Electromagnetic Spectrum Reconnaissance System
-
KWM-stA — MUM-T C2 MOSA (Software)
-
KWM-RANZA — AI-Based Military Logistics Automation System
By integrating KWM-Ocelot’s RF detection and intelligence fusion capabilities into KWM, FUNZIN demonstrated a breakthrough that overcomes the inherent limitations of EO/IR sensors—significantly advancing the level of battlefield automation.
What is KWM-stA (Standalone AI)?
KWM-stA is a tactical vehicle–mounted MUM-T C2 system that provides a standalone battle management capability for manned–unmanned teaming. Operators can control UAVs and UGVs in real time from a command-and-control vehicle, while the system autonomously performs reconnaissance, surveillance, and target acquisition through AI-driven target analysis and mission generation.
Its intuitive user interface enables operation without specialized training, and it is designed for future integration with broader tactical networks.
Senior defense leaders—including the Vice Minister of National Defense, the Commander of Army Logistics Command, the Commander of the 1st Logistics Support Brigade, the Commander of the Ground Intelligence Brigade, as well as representatives from the ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff, Army Headquarters, and the Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA)—visited FUNZIN’s booth.
Delegations from nine defense companies across eight countries, including the United States, Germany, and France, also engaged in discussions on the future of defense AI.
The large-scale KWM marks the beginning of a new era—one where commanders make decisions with AI, not after it. FUNZIN will continue driving innovation in defense AI with technologies designed for real operational impact. |
